Services Performed
  • Evacuate freon from the system. Remove snap ring and electrical plug. Replace the compressor control valve and reassemble. Test drive and verify repair.
  • Inspected the pressures and the low side is not getting down below 60. At times, the pressures will normalize. This indicates the compressor has the potential to function properly. Removed the control valve to inspect. Found a few small metal flakes, an early sign of compressor failure. The control valve is failing and is the cause of the stated concern. Compressor life is unknown at this time.
  • Recovered freon from system. Removed and replaced high and low side schrader valves. Vacuumed system. Charged freon to proper capacity. Inspected AC lines and drive belt. Verified proper operation of AC system.
  • Test drove vehicle. Raised on lift and performed vehicle inspection. Filled out vehicle condition report and submitted to service advisor.

  • Multiple codes stored related to an air leak. One knock sensor code also stored. Idle is very high and often erratic. Visually inspected for vacuum leaks and none found. Removed the oil fill cap with engine running and found a large amount of suction. The breather system inside the cover has ruptured, valve cover will require replacement. Knock sensor may be related but cannot accurately diagnose without a properly running engine.
  • Test drove vehicle. Raised on lift and performed vehicle inspection. Filled out vehicle condition report and submitted to service advisor.
