- Evacuate freon from the system. Remove snap ring and electrical plug. Replace the compressor control valve and reassemble. Test drive and verify repair.
- Inspected the pressures and the low side is not getting down below 60. At times, the pressures will normalize. This indicates the compressor has the potential to function properly. Removed the control valve to inspect. Found a few small metal flakes, an early sign of compressor failure. The control valve is failing and is the cause of the stated concern. Compressor life is unknown at this time.
- Recovered freon from system. Removed and replaced high and low side schrader valves. Vacuumed system. Charged freon to proper capacity. Inspected AC lines and drive belt. Verified proper operation of AC system.
- Test drove vehicle. Raised on lift and performed vehicle inspection. Filled out vehicle condition report and submitted to service advisor.
